YOUR CULTIVATED MUSHROOMS KIT… CHILD'S PLAY! |

| 1 The kit (expanded polystyrene box) contains a bed of subsoil and a bag of special compost. The subsoil is composed of compost and mycelium (these are the white filaments which appear after the compost has been fertilized with mushroom spores). | 2 Tip the contents of the compost bag onto the subsoil. Spread out evenly. Moisten liberally with a spray (using about 1/4 litre of water) to begin with. The compost will feed the mycelium and the mushrooms will begin to grow. | 3 The mushrooms need a little light and a lot of humidity and air to sprout. Put the expanded polystyrene cover in the top of the cardboard cover. Pierce the windows following the dotted lines. The polystyrene cover remains wedged inside the cardboard cover. |

| 4 Put the cover carefully back on the box; the shutters of the little windows will hold it at a good height to allow your mushrooms to sprout. In this way the culture will be in the shade and well ventilated. Put the box preferably in a damp place and at an ideal temperature of 15 to 18°C. | 5 Lift the cover and moisten with a spray daily. The surface of the soil should be kept quite moist. | 6 Three or four weeks later, you will see little mushrooms appearing. Don't pick the mushrooms when they are too small. Let them grow; they will have more flavour and you will have more of them! Pull out the stumps to stop them going rotten. Fill In the spaces left with damp soil. |
One to two weeks after the first harvest there will be a second, then another, etc… If you take the necessary care (a few tricks here), in a few months you could have several harvests. Bon appétit ! |
